How long does it take to install?
15 min or less. A Customer can do it but a heating and cooling contractor is recommended.

How long is the payback?
The payback for the average homeowner can be 18 months or less. In commercial refrigeration applications the payback can be as soon as eight months.

Does it work on any furnace or air conditioner?
Yes it does, it was designed to retrofit any model air handler/fan on the 24 volt side. The Micro Processing Module monitors the HVAC systems operation and then controls the fans operation and tells it how to function more efficiently in both heating and cooling modes. Most HVAC systems have a ninety second effective fan run time. The Micro-Processor may tell the fan to run for as long as five to six minutes to maximize efficiency of the HVAC system to reduce the number of system cycles…again, in both cooling and heating modes.

Can The HVAC Green Chip Lessen CO2 Production also?
Power plants generate the electricity that we use in our homes and businesses. Unfortunately, power plants also produce 41% of the greenhouse gasses like carbon dioxide in the US. Yet, according to a Pacific Gas and Electric study, if most of the air conditioning (AC) systems in California increased their energy efficiency by only 5%, the state could save the equivalent energy of four 300-megawatt power plants. Those four coal-fired plants also emit 2.5 million pounds of carbon dioxide per hour. The HVAC Green Chip can increase the efficiency of your AC system by a minimum of 10-15% (14.8% on average), so estimating conservatively, the HVAC Green Chip could keep 5—7.5 million pounds of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere per hour. How Does HVAC Green Chip Save Energy In Cooling Mode?
The HVAC Green Chip monitors how long the AC unit runs, then automatically programs the fan to continue running until all of the cold air left in the ducts has been delivered to the rooms. While some AC manufacturers program the fan to run for 90 seconds after the AC compressor turns off, recent testing by the California Energy Commission shows an average 14.8% improvement in efficiency with extended run time. The extended fan time reduces the number of times the AC compressor cycles on—one of the worst energy guzzlers in both commercial and residential buildings.

How Does HVAC Green Chip Save On My Heating?
Most furnace manufacturers program the fan to continue running for 90 seconds at the end of combustion cycle. This slows the cooling of the combustion chamber and prevents metal fatigue from rapid expansion and contraction. There is, however, additional heat left in the system that can be used to warm your home or business. The HVAC Green Chip monitors how long the furnace runs, then activates the furnace fan at the end of the combustion cycle to stay on for up to 8 minutes longer. The additional fan run time extracts more heat from the furnace, resulting in less waste and less furnace run time, saving an average of 11.8% in energy costs.
